46^e IAMMS

Puis, l’appellation de Rencontre internationale des pays alpins a été adoptée et progressivement, d’autres nations ont rejoint le groupe initial. Actuellement, l’Allemagne, l’Argentine, l’Autriche, la Belgique, l’Espagne, la France, la Hollande, l’Italie, la Norvège, la Pologne, la Roumanie, le Royaume Uni, la Slovénie, la Suéde, la Suisse et les USA sont pays membres du IAMMS. Tous les ans, chacun à tour de rôle organise un rassemblement dans son école de montagne. Régulièrement des délégations de pays non membres de l’association sont invitées à participer à son rassemblement annuel.

Depuis sa création, la France a organisé périodiquement ce rassemblement à Chamonix :
 Mai 1971 : 6^e rencontre militaire internationale des pays alpins (Col Mailly).

En 2012, l’EMHM associera le 46^e rassemblement du IAMMS qui se déroulera du 2 au 6 juillet à Chamonix aux célébrations du 80^e anniversaire de l’École. Le thème de ce rassemblement sera « les savoir-faire en haute montagne appliqués au combat du niveau section et compagnie ».
Quinze nations et deux pays observateurs seront représentés.

Then the name of “International Meeting of Alpine Nations” was given, and other nations have joined the existing group. At present ,Germany ,Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Spain, France, The Netherlands, Italy, Norway, Poland, Romania, United Kingdom, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland and USA are parts of the International Association of Military Mountain Schools. Every year, each nation organises successively this meeting in its own mountain school. Delegations of non-member nations are regularly invited to participate in this annual event.

In 2012, the 46th meeting of the International Association of Military Mountain Schools will take place in Chamonix from 2 to 6 July at the same time as the High Mountain Military School will be celebrating its 80th anniversary. The theme of this meeting will be “High mountain skills applied to fighting on a platoon and company level”.
15 nations and 2 nations with observer status will attend the meeting.
